Pirate Party

 My youngest daughter
loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
So what better way to celebrate her birthday than to build her a pirate ship of her own.

I got all the boxes for free at my local appliance store.

Tick-Tock Crock was a birthday gift from the Disney Store.

This is the view from the helm.

Everyone got to pick their pirate wear, which I ordered here.

We made this Welcome sign with Cardboard and computer print outs.

I used red masking tape to make the pirate map dotted lines.

We had a light lunch

 Pirate Ship Cake

Pirate Princess

 Birthday Girl!

The Cake and the pirate ship were a hit!!

Rainbow Tea Party

For my daughter's 5th Birthday we gave her a Rainbow Tea party.
I spent months making the decorations, parties hats and planning every detail.

The guests arrived and were invited to pick their party hat, jewelry and accessories.

Then the girls were treated to mini manicures and makeup at two stations.

Of course there was lots of food.

For the adults and the kids.

Even the adults got in on the action!

More posts on this and the details that went into this party to come.

Men are NOT Mind Readers

Valentines Day is days away, and I can already imagine all of the disappointment.
The gift, you wanted but didn't get, the night in that you hoped would be spent out.
How does this all go wrong?
Are the special people in our lives stupid?
Of course not, they're just NOT mind readers.
I'm totally GUILTY of this!
I think my husband should be able to read my mind.
He asks, "what do you want to do for Valentines Day?" I answer, "I dunno, I don't care."
Then conversation ends and I start thinking of all the surprises coming my way.
I'm setting this poor guy up!
I don't wan to tell him what i want, I want him to READ MY MIND!!
The romantic evening, the quality time and special gifts.  When he doesn't deliver, I'm not just disappointed.
I get PISSED!!!
I walk around snippy, and annoyed and hold grudges.
I get all worked up just because he didn't figure out what I want through mental telepathy.

Epiphany of the DAY!!

My husband is no Mind Reader!!!
But he is a great listener.
I remember this great book he and I read together along time ago.
We read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, and we each decided which things we needed to feel loved.
No surprise my husband likes them all!
 But I'm a bit of a pickle.
The Clifnotes of it is that everyone speaks a different "love language." Their "love language," is the way that they feel and receive love. There are 5 Love Languages.

Words of Affirmation
Acts of Service
Receiving Gifts
Quality Time
Physical Touch

If he spends time with you but your mad he didn't bring you flowers, your Love Language may be Receiving Gifts.
I won't share my love language, but I can say it has changed over time.
So it's important to check back in and ask what makes someone feel loved.
There is no right or wrong language and definitely no judgement.
It simply is how you take in the love being giving to you.
Men and Women have different requirements and understanding them can help bring them closer to you.
I found this handy chart to help you relate.

I have used these 5 Love Languages with my children.
I think they are really great way to help you express your love and appreciation for the ones you love.
If you know someone loves you but you just don't feel it, try communicating which love language you speak.
It really will help because no one can read minds.
Happy Valentines
Day!

Open & Honest My Goddess Philosophy

"Mommy Gratitude" has become such an inspirational force for me.
Writing on this subject has given me new clarity in my life.
So after a lot of thought I've come to a revelation.

I should say I will not stop talking about my mommy gratitude. I just have even more to talk about.

I've wanted to talk more about my life from the unique perspective of being a strong, confident, evolving woman.
I've wanted to find a way to share with you more about ME.
The woman that I am, and the woman I so desperately want to be.

I'm a wife, and a mother, and that is the most I have time for most days.
But there's another part of me still alive and well.
A part of me that I don't always have time to nurture and groom, but I want to set her on fire.

I call that part of me the   Goddess.

I was born a Goddess before everything else.
Being a Goddess means you recognize your potential to be God like.

This is my personal philosophy:

I believe that women more then men (sorry guys) have the greatest potential to experience life through the full human experience.
Women align their lives, and the lives of their children, husband, friends and families with our inner sense of human perfection.

If we ourselves are on the path to becoming our live's potential then we touch others with our vibrations.
Enriching our family and friends.

A good woman, a Goddess, improves all she touches.

This is our POWER, this is our GIFT, this is what makes us Goddesses.

Yes, I have used my womanly body to bear children and caring and loving those children makes me a mother.
I believe the more I teach my children the better mother I am.

Yes, I have found love and joined my life with another person and that has made me a wife.
I believe the more I share my life with my husband or significant other the better wife I am.

Understanding all that, I also recognize that being a wife and a mother is only possible because I am a Goddess.
If I don't acknowledge and nurture my own dreams and aspirations I will never fully come into my power or realize
my true potential.

There are many things that I must learn to live The Goddess Life.

As women we must use our full range of senses. Not just our bodily senses, sight, smell, vision and taste.
We must use our sense of INTUITION we must trust our inner voice.
We must CENTER our EMOTIONS, and live with clarity.
We must find CONFIDENCE in our own bodies and embrace our femininity.

Okay, so that's enough of my personal philosophy.

I challenge you to step out of your box and embrace all the things about you that make you unhappy.
I challenge you to try something new and be conscious of the way you carry yourself.

The Goddess Life is about,

Knowledge of Self
 Knowledge of Body
Strength of Mind
Unwavering Self love.

Welcome Goddesses!

Thank You!

The Goddess Life

I love this definition from Goddess to Goddess
It touches upon all the principals I deeply believe in.

Follow your INTUITION, believe in your STRENGTH, and listen to your INNER VOICE,
Woman Know Thyself

If your a woman like me than I believe in your ability to connect to the power you have inside.
The power that makes your potential limitless.
Embrace your inner Goddess.

Don't allow your daily struggles to distract you from living your best life.
Challenges make us stronger. Strength is born from defeating weakness.
Weakness is eliminated by doing something hard.
Pain is weakness leaving the body.
Pick your path stand strong.

I will be sharing my experiences and practices which have helped me better manage my life as a wife, and mother.  In order to find the energetic space to blossom as a goddess.

I will be writing under these Categories
Organize Your Life
Find Your Voice
Get Tough
Authentically YOU.

All with the hopes that my journey will help you better live
The Goddess Life

Open & Honest GIRL Talk

WARNING... What I'm about to say may Shock some of you or make you a little uncomfortable.
Sorry but, sometimes we need to have GIRL talk. LOL!
Okay,
Moment of honesty between us goddesses.
Ready, I prefer home remedies to doctor's visits.

That itchy, uncomfortable, burning feeling is the most annoying, agitating sensations, uuuggghhh!
Ya know.....................yeast infections!!!
Uuuuummmm, it's a form of torture.

It doesn't happen all that often but when it does, it makes me miserable.
So when the feeling starts it's hard not to panic and run to the drug store.
But, somehow, I manage to make it to my fridge and grab my stash of plain yogurt, hidden way in the back behind the pickles.
Yes, I use plain yogurt on/in my girl!
OKAY I SAID IT!!!!!
And I thought it was just me. Between my friends it's just one of those things that just doesn't really come up in conversation. So I thought it was just my secret but NO,
Karen over at The Art Of Doing Stuff was talking about "my" yogurt cure.  Well it's her yogurt cure too.
She also made this totally awesome and hilarious video on Youtube. You have to check her out, she knows lots of stuff about lots of stuff!!!

So....Goddess to Goddess please! Pause before you ring the GYN people, most lady problems have home remedies, that are seriously a lot more gentle for your flowers.
Also, FYI yeast infections are often cause by an imbalance of PH within the vagina, or an over growth of already present "bad" bacteria.  Heavy soaps, or taking antibiotic can cause this problem. So try a +PRObiotics with your -anitbiotics. Again this is my personal opinion about things that I have personally tried and your more than free to try or ignore any of my suggestions. Just want to share my experience living the goddess life.

If you have any experiences relating to "Home Remedies of The Goddess Life I would love to read about them. I'll even post them all here as goddess reference.

Thanks again Karen at The Art of Doing Stuff!!!

Please leave one for me!

Colortime Craftts & Markers Review

We've  been keep ourselves busy!!

We got this Pillow decorating project from ColorTime Crafts and Markers.

The markers are fat and easy to handle.
The girls figured out how to mix the colors together and make many other colors.

Alivia wanted her own project so we pulled out a T-shirt for her to color.

Lots of fun and the markers washed right off our hands very easily.

If you'd like to order a project of your own here is a discount coupon.

Enjoy!

Little Girls and their Hair

I found this great open letter written by Jada Pinkett-Smith about why she has allowed her daughter Willow Smith to cut her hair.

My kids are huge fans of Willow Smith and I love her individuality.

Check out Jada's thoughts on unchaining your children from our own ideas about beauty and style.

'A letter to a friend..."

"This subject is old but I have never answered it in its entirety. And even with this post it will remain incomplete."

"The question why I would LET Willow cut her hair. First the LET must be challenged. This is a world where women, girls are constantly reminded that they don't belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination. I made a promise to endow my little girl with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair. It's also a statement that claims that even little girls have the RIGHT to own themselves and should not be a slave to even their mother's deepest insecurities, hopes and desires. Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be. More to come. Another day."

Learning Eggs

The girls and I were lucky enough to be selected to try out this new program called the Reading Eggs.

The Reading Eggs is an online program that helps children learn to read and improve their reading skills.
I think it will be fun for my 4 year old to play with the program and practice her phonics as well as for my 7 year old to sharpening her vocabulary.
The Reading Eggs program has been developed by a highly experienced team of teachers, educational writers, animators and web developers.
The program is designed for children aged 3 through 12.
